About Dr. Stephen Lucie
Dr. Stephen Lucie utilizes more than 30 years of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine experience in his capacity as an orthopaedic surgeon at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute. Also a founding member of the practice, he currently maintains additional responsibilities as vice chairman. At Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Stephen Lucie focuses on total joint replacements, injection therapies, and surgial and nonsurgical treatment for sports injuries. He has achieved recognition for his expertise in orthopaedic sports medicine as among the few practitioners in Northeast Florida board certified in the subspecialty.
On top of his duties at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Stephen Lucie serves as the head team physician for the Jacksonville Sharks, the Jacksonville University Dolphins, and the Bolles School. He previously performed as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ original head team physician for seven years and continues to provide orthopedic consulting to the NFL team. An active member of the medical community, Dr. Stephen Lucie also affiliates with several hospitals and holds leadership roles with a number of professional organizations.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Lucie gained experienced as an orthopaedic surgeon at such practices as North Florida Orthopaedic Center and Lakewood Orthopaedic Clinic. He graduated with an MD from the Medical College of Georgia and completed residency training at the University of Colorado.
